Action Alerts

Act now to stop elimination of your Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities (SDFSC) dollars!

The Full House Appropriations Committee and the Senate have yet to approve a bill that would cut the State Grants portion of SDFSC, but we don't have much time. Without the State Grants portion of SDFSC, it will be very difficult for your schools and districts to get funding for school safety, substance abuse prevention, and social and emotional learning, and to maintain those programs already in place.

Act Now

With just a few clicks of your mouse, you can communicate directly with your representatives about this issue. Read on to learn how.

Instructions

  1. Visit the CADCA Web site. There you will see an "Action Alert" about this proposal. Scroll down the page to find a grey box containing the text of the fax you will be sending.
  2. Add your name and contact information at the bottom. Although it's not marked as "required," make sure to include a phone number. If you don't, the system will ask you to go back and do so before it will send the message.
  3. Send the fax (it will automatically be faxed to your congress people). You will be emailed a confirmation from CADCA.
  4. After you have sent the fax, a page will appear with an option to forward the alert to six other people. Ask parents, colleagues, and friends to join you in saving these important funds. You may also forward this email.

Many of you have made your voices heard to preserve SDFSC in previous years, and those voices have made all the difference. Funding for these programs has survived because you have cared enough to take action. To help keep our kids safe, please make yourself heard to preserve SDFSC funding.
