Dear Scholarship Coordinator, or high school senior:
Each year, the San Joaquin Section of CASCWA provides scholarship awards to high school seniors attending schools in our region. This year, we are offering eight scholarships, in the amount of $700.00 each.
Our scholarship is called the “Anthony Brucia Success Award,” named after the son of one of our Board members.
The award is intended for students who have made a turn-around in their lives. Winners of this award may not have all four years with a 4.0+ GPA. Past winners typically show a change in the later years of high school. We’re looking for a student who may have had to overcome lack of success early on due to a variety of reasons, including but not limited to personal or family problems. We want to show our appreciation to those students who may have been burdened by “at risk” circumstances and/or may have “hit bottom” but are now putting things back together.
If you know of a qualifying student, or are such a student, assistance utilize your site’s assistance in preparing an application for the “Anthony Brucia Success Award.” You can find additional copies under the San Joaquin section of CASCWA.org. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 559-675-4500, extension 235.
Thanks for your kind attention and support.
Sincerely,
J. Galen Wright, Ed. D.
Scholarship Chairman
