CASCWA is an organization comprised of school and community professionals who are dedicated to improving school climate, safety, and increasing school attendance. We create a network of professional support, mentors, and educators, and we influence relevant legislation and advocate for the needs of students, families and schools. CASCWA is composed of four Sections which include Bay, Delta Sierra, San Joaquin and Southern.
We have many challenges ahead this school year. As we move forward in our pursuit of continued quality in serving families, it is obvious that we are working with fewer resources. In spite of the many hurdles, CASCWA continues to strive in providing support to administrators to better serve our students. During the coming year, may the application of CASCWA core values guide our work to create schools in which all students and families are respected, and their needs and concerns are addressed.
I encourage you to utilize all the resources available through CASCWA. It’s so important for us to continue to grow professionally and stay abreast of current trends within the Child Welfare profession. CASCWA can help assist you in your position through, Legislation, mentors, professional support, Intercom Publication, networking opportunities, professional development offered through each section, state conferences, and through our partnerships with Lozano and Smith. CASCWA also has a working relationship with School Innovations & Advocacy for the deployment of products and services relating to attendance management and recovery and Legislative Advocacy.
The CASCWA web site and online community are increasingly relied upon for immediate communication regarding legislation updates, research & literature, publications, conferences and resources for Child Welfare professional.
